![]() ![]() 1 Where to find the best loot, weapons, and gear in SCUM. Where to find the best loot, weapons, and gear in SCUMĭespite the size of Scum's map, there's a surprising amount of good gear - weapons, ammo, and armor - on each map grid, meaning that wherever you spawn, you'll always be close to a large cache of firearms. ![]() ![]() The game is in Early Access mode so some things may change during development, but here's a rundown of the best places to equip. The map above, created by Suspectlive, is very useful if opened on a second monitor during gameplay. Since the Scum map (opened by pressing the M button) shows your location with a small blue arrow, you can quickly determine where you are in relation to the places marked on the map. The underground bunkers (marked with yellow dots on the map) are a great place to loot - the one I visited had several basement levels filled with weapons, ammo, bulletproof vests, tactical clothing and even supplies, which came in handy after feed on zombie meat and mushrooms on the way to the bunker.īut you can't just walk in! Bunkers are usually guarded by two swords, large stomping robots that warn you on sight and open fire about two seconds later. There are also many zombie soldiers in the bunkers, some of whom are wearing military gear, including helmets, and can be a bit more difficult to deal with than the normal zombies in town. Stealth is your friend – get low, stay hidden, and try to spot the bunker entrance from behind the fence (big hint: a 'Mech usually stomps like a triangle patrol). After luring in and killing a few nearby zeds, I managed to sneak up, open the hatch to the bunker, and sneak inside (the 'Mech shot me as soon as I entered, but I survived). I felt like a kid in a candy store then: loads of loot in the gun room, medical area, offices, and crates scattered throughout the bunker. Police Stations (light blue on the map) are a reasonable place to look for weapons, as long as they haven't been looted by other players. If you want to avoid the deadly mechs, go to a city with a police station: there is one in every neighborhood. But in any big city, you will come across a lot of zombies, both on the streets and in the surrounding area. And if you're like me, all those buildings are going to drop your frame rate a lot. The hunting camps (marked in green) are a bit harder to get to, as there are only a few on the map, but the ones I visited had at least a few shotguns and some ammo for them. There's also a small handful of zombies wandering around. Create your own markers and share them with your team. You can find places like WWII bunkers, caves, vehicle spawn points and more. OutpostsĪt the moment there is not much interest in the outposts, marked in pink on the map above. Dive into different layers and find the best spots of the game. ![]()
